How Rivalry tiers worked

This guide explained Rivalry tiers while the event was live. Rivalry is retired; the rules below are historical only.

Tier 1 was Novice — Tier 7 was the top

  • Everyone began at Tier 1. Lifetime Rivalry score on a track promoted players through Tier 2–7.
  • Big daily totals did not put you in Tier 1. High lifetime scorers were usually Tier 6 or Tier 7.
  • Tier came from lifetime progress on that track, while today’s score decided place inside the tier bracket before midnight Eastern reset.

How Rivalry score was earned

  • NPC races: qualifying listed monster kills (cannon damage did not count).
  • Skilling races: Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Cooking, and Smithing.
  • PK and staking races: eligible player kills and real staked duels.
  • Each track was separate.

Historical payout brackets (Tier 4–7)

  • Tier 4: 1st 10,000 / 2nd 5,000 / 3rd 2,500 GP
  • Tier 5: 1st 20,000 / 2nd 10,000 / 3rd 5,000 GP
  • Tier 6: 1st 40,000 / 2nd 20,000 / 3rd 10,000 GP
  • Tier 7: 1st 75,000 / 2nd 37,500 / 3rd 18,750 GP
  • Settlement was once daily at midnight Eastern for players who scored that day.

Daily tier brackets made Rivalry rewards competitive and sustainable

  • Top three daily players were recognized in each eligible progression tier. Tier 4 through Tier 7 each had first-, second-, and third-place rewards, settled once per day at midnight Eastern.
  • Highest lifetime tier determined the bracket. Advancing during the day moved a player into the higher bracket automatically.
  • Continuous milestone GP was retired when brackets launched. Rewards already earned or waiting to be claimed remained safe.
