Source & Licenses

RSCRevived uses and modifies the OpenRSC Core Framework. This page identifies the upstream project, the applicable server-code license, and the current availability of the designated source repository for RSCRevived's modified server.

OpenRSC server framework

The RSCRevived game server is based on the OpenRSC Core Framework and includes RSCRevived modifications.

OpenRSC identifies its core framework as licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 (AGPLv3). Copyright, license, attribution, and warranty notices included with the covered source remain in force.

RSCRevived modified server source

RSCRevived is currently listed on GitHub, but the designated repository for the modified server source is private. The repository contents are not yet available for anonymous access.

Current status: private repository. The GitHub listing identifies the project and its designated source repository, but it does not currently provide public access to the source. We plan to make the corresponding source publicly accessible when it is ready for release and keep it synchronized with the server build available to players.

If you cannot access the repository or believe its contents do not correspond to the server version you are using, please contact [email protected]. Until public access is available, the GitHub listing should not be interpreted as a completed public source offer.

Scope and third-party rights

The AGPLv3 notice applies to covered OpenRSC-derived server software. It does not grant rights to the RSCRevived name or to third-party trademarks, game data, maps, sprites, music, artwork, writing, or other content merely because that material is used by or stored near the server software.

RSCRevived is an independent fan-run project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or operated by Jagex Limited. RuneScape and related names, marks, game content, and intellectual property belong to Jagex Limited and/or their respective owners and licensors.

No warranty from the open-source components

The covered server software is provided under the AGPLv3 without warranty, as described in the license. RSCRevived's separate service terms remain available in the Terms of Service.
